CULINARY ARTS: GREAT CAREER FOR MANY, FUN FOR OTHERS; LEARN ABOUT BEING A CHEF IN ‘MECK TEEN CHEFS’ PROGRAM

Charlotte, NC – Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites youth interested in cooking, ages 11-17, to join Meck Teen Chefs-Cooking 101 on ten weeknights, 5:30-8pm, January-March, 2010.. 

This is an exciting, award-winning course offered in partnership with Chef Kimberly Green of Green Apple U.  Classes include world cuisines, nutritional planning, food history, a restaurant simulation and a special guest.  The series introduces some participants to a possible career in the culinary arts.  For others it shows that cooking is a fun hobby.

Cost is $15 per class. Participants are expected to attend ALL ten classes. Fees include cooking materials, food, and uniform (chef’s coat and hat).  Pick-up and drop-off location is at Craig Avenue Tabernacle, 3936 Craig Ave.  Deadline to register is January 6. Space is limited so sign up today!
