Charlotte, NC—Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department hosts the Charlotte Woodcarvers Showcase of Woodcarvings at Marion Diehl Recreation Center, 2219 Tyvola Road, Saturday and Sunday, February 20 & 21, 2010, 10am-4pm. Admission is FREE. This show attracts wood carvers from all over the southeast.
This is a judged exhibition of woodcarvings from amateur and professional woodcarvers from across

the southeast. Competitions are for novice, intermediate, and open in various categories. Woodcarvings include caricatures, birds of prey, chip carving, human busts, ducks, and more. See great examples of the woodcarvers' art and learn about this interesting hobby. Vendors will be on hand to sell wood, tools, and supplies to "wood-be" carvers. Mini-seminars will be offered on various carving topics. Beginners are welcome!
