Charlotte, NC – Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites adult swimmers to join the US Masters Swimming Program at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, 800 East Martin Luther King Blvd. This program is open to all swimmers, ages 18 and older, who swim for fun, competition, as a triathlete in training, or who want to improve fitness.
The US Masters Swimming Program allows participants to plan and participate in structured workouts with an expert coach. The program establishes specific goals and provides active support through friendships and camaraderie. Swimmers at all skill levels are welcome.
This is a recently organized program at the Aquatic Center. Participants may join at any time. They must first register with the US Masters Program. Register online at: www.usms.org/reg/ and enter the group name: Charlotte Swim Masters. A year's membership costs $37.
Swimming sessions for the Masters program are held:
- Mondays/Wednesday/Fridays: 6am-7:30am, 9:30am-10:30am, 12pm-1pm
- Tuesdays/Thursdays: 6am-7:30am and 12noon-1pm (50 meter swimming)
- And Saturdays: 8am-9:30am
Participants may register for this program at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center for $55 a month, buy a ten entry punch pass for $60, or a year pass for $594 (a 10% discount). If you become a member of the Aquatic Center, you pay a reduced rate for the Masters program of $35 a month, buy a 10 entry punch pass for $40, or pay $378 a year (10% discount).
