The River Bound Race Series, a signature trail running race

North Carolina Outward Bound

series featuring some of the most scenic and challenging trails in the entire Southeastern United States, will kick off with a 5K race on March 13, 2010 at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. This four-race series will attract a wide spectrum of runners from first-timers to experienced marathoners—all eager to test their limits on the meandering trails of the popular Charlotte site.

Expecting to draw from throughout the Charlotte area and Southeast region, the River Bound Race Series will build in distance throughout the Spring and Summer of 2010 culminating in a half marathon at the end of September. Race proceeds will support North Carolina Outward Bound's Charlotte programs, including the Unity Project and scholarship assistance for youth, educators, and military veterans attending wilderness courses in the North Carolina mountains.

Dates for the River Bound Race Series are:

5k - March 13th  /  10k - May 22nd  /  15k - July 17th  /  Half Marathon - September 25th
