Mint Museum offers 'Train the Trainer' art sessions

NCDT REACH! - NCDT Reach is a dance program through the North Carolina Dance Theatre, offers classes in ballet and world dance forms, including dance attire and tickets to NC Dance Theatre performances, free of charge, for children ages 8-10. Auditions for the program starting in the fall of will be held in August with classes beginning in September. This program is a partnership with the NC Dance Theatre and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department and made possible by a grant from the Women's Impact Fund. Classes that began in the fall of 2009 are currently being offered at the following recreation centers: Albemarle Road, Bette Rae Thomas, Greenville and Naomi Drenan.   • April 20 – Drop off of visual, Heritage and Literary Arts at the Tyvola Senior Center
  • May 6 – Performing Arts at the Levine Senior Center
  • May 13 – Visual Arts at the Tyvola Senior Center

Heritage Arts – Basket weaving, china painting, crocheting, rugs(hooked/braided/woven), jewelry, knitting, needlework, pottery(hand built/thrown), quilting, stained glass, tatting & needlelace, tole/decorative painting, weaving, woodcarving, woodworking, woodturning & ceramics.

Visual Arts – Acrylics, drawing, mixed media, oil, pastels, photography, sculptures, watercolor

Literary Arts – Essays, life experience(autobiographical), poems, short stories

Performing Arts – Solo, small group (2-4) and large group. Types or acts- comedy, drama, dance, instrumental, vocal, cheerleading, line dancing

Meck Seniors Dance and More - This program is designed for the senior adult, ages 50 and older to learn safe and healthy ways to enjoy life at its fullest through the art of dance in various styles and creativity. The aim is to promote healthy lifestyles, physically, socially, emotionally and develop talents/skills for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Silver/Performing Arts. Meck Senior Silver Arts Workshops - This project opportunity is designed for adults ages 50 and older to assist in developing their talents and skills in Heritage Arts, i.e., Visual Arts, Literary Arts and Performing Arts for competition in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Senior Games Silver Arts upon turning 55 years.
