Code Enforcement to extend operating hours
The Code Enforcement Division will make a work schedule adjustment to expand regular hours of operation from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday through Friday, beginning April 1. The extended hours of operation will occur April through September, which corresponds with daylight savings time.

Fair Lending & Foreclosure Prevention Forum
Representatives from HUD, National Community Reinvestment Coalition and HUD-approved housing counseling agencies will offer a unique forum to discuss fair lending requirements of the Federal Fair Housing Act, how to avoid predatory lending and foreclosure alternatives. The forum will be held on Thursday, August 7 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.

City Launches Foreclosure Resource Center Web Site
A
web site containing foreclosures resources and referrals is available for individuals and families facing foreclosure in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The site will be updated as additional resources become available. The growing number of housing foreclosures is a major issue nationally and locally. Between 2000 and 2007, the number of foreclosure filings in Charlotte-Mecklenburg increased 244 percent, from 2,311 to 7,943 filings. It is estimated that approximately 50 percent of all local foreclosure filings have resulted in the loss of a home.
