Warren Turner, a Democrat, represents District 3 on City Council. He was first elected in 2003 and is now serving his fourth term on Council. He vice chairs the Government Affairs and Housing and Neighborhood Development Committees and is a member of the Restructuring Government Committee. 

 

Turner currently serves on the NBC-LEO Board of Directors as an At-Large member, chairs the NBC-LEO Public Safety Committee.  He additionally serves on the Raycom Sports Board. 

 

In the past he has served on the boards of directors of the C.W. Williams Health Center, Inc., the Mecklenburg County Citizens Capital Budget Advisory Committee, the Crossings Community Association, Charlotte Trolley Board/ South End Historical Committee, and the City of Charlotte Capital Needs Advisory Committee.

 

Turner is a life member of the Second Ward High School Alumni Board, and has served as a Boy Scouts of America scoutmaster. He was inducted into the Fayetteville State University Football Hall of Fame in 2005.  He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

 

He is employed by the North Carolina State Government. He and his wife Shawn, have one daughter.
